Fincantieri Marine Group is a leading shipbuilding company dedicated to constructing vessels for the United States Navy. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Engineer will oversee the monitoring and evaluation of the Quality Management System. This role involves conducting process assessments and trend evaluations, as well as performing root cause analysis for corrective actions in collaboration with process stakeholders. The engineer will also communicate quality trends to management and executive teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives with teams to address and rectify process challenges.
- Analyze process control data and suggest corrective measures for unstable processes.
- Employ systematic methodologies to identify, prioritize, and resolve quality-related issues.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
- Review customer feedback and assist in formulating responses to quality concerns.
- Provide insights to management regarding quality trends.
- Assess non-conformance in work processes against established requirements.
- Utilize internal metrics to identify risks and opportunities within the Quality Management System.
- Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders during quality incidents.
- Commit to the organization's vision and uphold its values.
- Adhere to and enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Engage with internal and external parties to enhance the Quality Management System.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position may involve supervising team members in relation to corrective and preventive actions, demonstrating leadership that aligns with the company's mission and values.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical requirements for this role include the ability to sit for extended periods, occasionally stand or walk, and handle materials. The role may require lifting up to 15 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is typically climate-controlled, with minimal exposure to hazardous conditions. However, entry into the shipyard may involve exposure to moving equipment and other elements.

QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of three years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing context. Additional qualifications may include Six Sigma training and ASQ certification.
