Job Summary

Fincantieri Marine Group is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team in the fabrication and installation of marine piping systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient removal, repair, fabrication, installation, and testing of piping systems in accordance with regulatory standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remove, repair, fabricate, install, and test marine piping systems, including salt water, fire main, potable water, hydraulic, compressed air, fuel oil, engine exhaust, and other systems.
  • Operate various equipment, such as table saws, pipe threading machines, bending machines, drill presses, and brazing equipment, to perform tasks such as blanking and pressure testing tanks.
  • Measure and template pipe for fabrication, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Fabricate and install new pipe, ensuring strain-free connections and inspecting work for defects.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and safe work practices.
  • Participate in quality control and assurance processes to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in marine pipe fabrication.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of piping systems, including materials, codes, and standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • MT Braze (B-1) and (B-2) certification preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Work in a shipyard or fabrication facility environment.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and other hazardous materials.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.
