Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the team as a Truck Logistics Manager. This individual is responsible for overseeing and optimizing their dispatching and trucking operations with a strong background in logistics, transportation management, and project management to meet customer demands and company goals across multiple regions.


Key Responsibilities:


Oversee daily dispatch operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials:

  • Coordinate with drivers, contractors, and other partners to manage daily dispatch schedules and workflows
  • Ensure all dispatch activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Address and resolve any issues or delays in real-time to maintain smooth operations
  • Develop and maintain dispatch schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources:


Create and adjust daily, weekly, and monthly dispatch schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and fleet availability:

  • Allocate resources efficiently, balancing load assignments to maximize productivity and minimize costs
  • Implement strategies to reduce empty miles and enhance load consolidation
  • Monitor and analyze dispatch performance, implementing improvements as needed


Use company dispatch software and tracking system to monitor the status and progress of deliveries:

  • Collect and analyze data on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, load reports, and driver productivity
  • Prepare regular reports on dispatch efficiency, resource utilization, and project progress.
  • Use data insights to recommend and implement operational improvements
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements to increase operational efficiency and service quality
  • Conduct regular audits and performance reviews to ensure adherence to standards and continuous improvement
  • Develop daily operational and accounting processes to ensure seamless operations
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with drivers, providing them with necessary information and support throughout their routes
  • Utilize company technology and communication tools to track driver locations, route progress, and delivery status
  • Address driver concerns and feedback promptly to maintain high levels of job satisfaction and performance
  • Handle emergency situations and contingencies


Work closely with company leadership to understand customer requirements and align dispatch activities accordingly:

  • Stay updated on transportation laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance
  • Conduct regular training sessions for drivers and dispatch staff on safety and regulatory compliance
  • Supervise and support the dispatch team, providing training and guidance
  • Perform onsite support and coordination
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and address any team issues promptly
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding dispatching services and trucking / accounting issues
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and resolving issues swiftly
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to align dispatch operations with customer needs


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in truck dispatching, logistics, or transportation management
  • Proven project management experience, preferably with a PMP certification
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in dispatching software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume dispatching environment
  • Familiarity with routing software and GPS systems
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience using data visualization tools
