Position Summary:
The Director of Business Development will report directly to the Senior VP of Sales and will be instrumental in driving growth within the asset-based logistics sector across the U.S. and Canada. This role will primarily target manufacturers engaged in Business to Business transactions, while also expanding into Business to Consumer and wholesale markets.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the strategic growth and direction of Commercial Contract Logistics and Labor Solutions sales initiatives across the Americas and Canada.
2. Proactively identify and pursue valuable business opportunities, qualifying leads and understanding customer requirements to recommend tailored solutions, enhance market penetration, and negotiate pricing effectively.
3. Focus on long-term objectives including new business acquisition, revenue growth for accounts (both domestic and international), and expanding account responsibilities across a diverse range of products and relationship levels.
4. Serve as a commercial business development authority, managing the entire sales cycle from prospect list creation, lead generation, and qualification to analysis, pricing, proposal preparation, presentation, contract finalization, and customer service follow-up post-sale.

Challenges:
Expand the account base, boost revenues, and enhance profitability across various industry sectors.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, account management, or solutions management within the third-party logistics or supply chain sector.
- Proven track record in closing and managing large accounts, along with organic growth of existing client relationships.
- Experience in business planning, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Direct involvement in pricing proposals and contract negotiation processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP).
- Ability to review quarterly plans focusing on revenue targets, margin integrity, and value stream analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel up to 50% based on organizational needs.

Additional Skills:
- Executive-level presentation and engagement capabilities.
- A proactive approach with a strong emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
