Lead Accountant

Duration: Contract to Hire

Job Title: Lead Accountant

Location: Watertown, MA (Onsite)

Client: Family-owned small business

Compensation: Up to $37 hourly rate (Up to $75K conversion salary plus benefits)


Permanent Hire Benefits

Benefits include 401K, dental insurance, and employer contributed insurance premiums.


Scope of Position / Overview of Responsibilities

Reports into the Owner, this role has 1 direct report (Accounting Clerk). The owner pulls his own financial reports, but this person just needs to ensure financials are in the system correctly.

• Record financial transactions

• Prepare financial reports

• Accounts Payable

• Invoicing

• Preparing trial balances

• File tax returns

• Maintain a balanced general ledger

• Reconcile entries to balance to subsidiary accounts

• Preparing cash flow statements

• Reconcile bank statements

• Serve as the backup payroll processor


Qualifications

• Able to be onsite daily

• Strong bookkeeping skills, including working extensively with the General Ledger

• Exposure to a Payroll process

• Exposure to tax returns
