Discover the Role

The Senior Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payrolls, responding to client inquiries, updating client profiles, tracking payrolls while providing exceptional customer service. The Senior Payroll Administrator will report directly to the Payroll Supervisor.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll experience and be able to manage payroll client employees spread over multiple accounts.
  • Identify and escalate issues to their manager for quick resolution.
  • Able to communicate effectively to clients to drive desired outcomes.
  • Work under pressure, multitask and build healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Oversee and process payroll for all assigned clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Calculate and process wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions including voluntary and involuntary such as benefits, garnishments, etc.
  • Prepare accounting transactions and documents.
  • Test and review tax tables for accuracy and compliance, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements.
  • Review and ensure payroll tax returns, including quarterly and annual reports (e.g. Form 941, Form 940, state unemployment tax returns, etc.)
  • Reconcile payroll tax liabilities and payments and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Monitor and ensure accurate processing of amendments to tax filings as needed.
  • Manage and oversee year-end payroll processing, including W-2 and 1099 forms.
  • Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations and implement necessary updates to payroll processes and systems while keeping the Payroll Manager aware of important changes to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Assist in the training Payroll Administrators and to ensure the delivery of high-quality services levels to our clients.
  • The candidate will work closely with the Payroll Manager and may be asked to complete other tasks on different clients, in order to support the team.


Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of multi-state payroll processing experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of taxes processing experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
  • Solid computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, flexible, and able to adjust to changing work demands.
  • Ability to ensure legal and regulatory compliance and handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Desirable previous experience of working in a payroll bureau or similar environment.
  • Must have obtained a high school diploma.
