We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager with a strong background in injection molding. The ideal candidate will oversee the maintenance department, ensuring the efficient operation of machinery, equipment, and facilities to support production. This role requires technical expertise in injection molding processes, automotive industry standards, and a proven ability to manage a team of maintenance technicians and engineers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Leadership: Manage and lead the maintenance team to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.
  • Injection Molding Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of injection molding machines and processes, troubleshooting, and performing root cause analysis for equipment failures.
  • Preventative Maintenance Programs: Develop and oversee comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules to maximize machine uptime and minimize breakdowns.
  • Repair and Troubleshooting: Oversee repair activities for all plant equipment, including injection molding machines, robotics, auxiliary equipment, and facility infrastructure.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives in machine performance, maintenance processes, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Budget Management: Manage the maintenance budget, control costs for repairs, and purchase of spare parts and supplies.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout and OSHA standards.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with outside vendors for equipment repairs, spare parts, and services as necessary.
  • Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance staff to ensure a high-performing team capable of supporting 24/7 operations.


Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in maintenance management, with a focus on injection molding.
  • Technical Knowledge: Expertise in the operation, maintenance, and repair of injection molding equipment, robotics, and automation systems.
  • Industry Standards: Knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and industry-specific safety regulations.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading a team, prioritizing work schedules, and managing maintenance operations.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation issues.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Software: Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other maintenance tracking software.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean Manufacturing: Experience with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Automotive Industry Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with automotive industry standards (IATF 16949) and customer-specific requirements.
  • Automation: Hands-on experience with automation and robotics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP).
