Drafting Coordinator

BlackRock Resources is seeking candidates for a Drafting Coordinator opportunity with our client in Houston, TX. This is a one-year contract with possible extension.


Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years experience in civil or mechanical design.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Technical degree (Associates or higher).


Job duties:

  • Participate as a liaison between the internal drafting resources, external service providers, project managers, and engineers.
  • Involved in standard and moderately complex technical assignments which require considerable technical expertise.
  • Collaborates with design team in preparing preliminary layout, process flow diagram (PFD) and/or piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID).
  • May participate in development of new procedures and improvement of existing practices.
  • Review drafting requirements and expectations.
  • Review drawings and verify that they conform with company and project drafting standards.
  • Provide required documents to project engineer or coordinator for reference in the design basis memorandum (DBM) .
  • Check CAD files into the FileNet Working Library.
  • Verify drawings are correctly loaded into the FileNet Engineering and Working Libraries.
  • Advise the project engineer or coordinator when libraries are up-to-date and complete.
