Role Description

This is a full-time employment role for an Employee Benefits and Payroll Specialist. The specialist will be responsible for various day-to-day tasks related to benefits administration, employee benefits, insurance, customer service, and administration of payroll. This role is primary located in Baton Rouge, LA, but with the flexibility for remote work.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Associates degree in HR, Accounting or other business related field strongly desired. 3+ years’ of Human Resources experience is required. Direct experience with payroll and benefits experience is highly preferred.
  • Must be well organized.
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP and CPP strongly desired.
  • Must have clear understanding of compliance requirements and federal/state regulations pertaining to ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, Medicare and Social Security.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software
  • Relevant certifications or coursework in HR or related field is a plus
