ROCC Since 2012: has built community while providing a playground for amazing coffee. The vision is the same, but the execution has ranged from operating an artisan roastery, running cafes, training in person and online, and launching startups through coaching and consulting. This is a growth business.

ROCC Today: Currently, we offer certified SCA coffee training both on- and offline. We are a market-leader in the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) training market. Our training is rooted and somewhat timeless - not flashy - not trendy. We use traditional methods such as YouTube, LinkedIn our Website (Squarespace) and top search results from blog posts and product sales to drive traffic. Just search "SCA training" or "custom cupping spoons" and you'll see our organic success.


We treat coffee business professional, but realize for many it's just a product or a hobby. We want to serve our clients and customers to build sustainable businesses, and need to stay out front to lead and serve. We respect coffee tradition and understand from global travel and origin partners that much of the traditional and producing coffee world has been left behind by the "specialty" trends. We serve a broad market and look for people who can see the bigger (sustainable) picture of global coffee production, training, roasting, relationships and business development.


We are not afraid of (in fact we embrace) big brands like Starbucks or LaVazza. We understand commercial grade coffee and Robusta just as much as the newest co-ferment or anaerobic processed single origin. We serve small coffee shops who have never cupped coffees in their life and we have the honor of working with some of the most famous brands in the world. The reputation was hard won through generosity, community building and boundary pushing growth.


WARNING If you just want to enjoy coffee or play with the newest origins and equipment, this may not be the position for you. If you want to work at a coffee shop and learn latte art - go for it, somewhere else : ) This role might feel like you've enrolled in an MBA program, but you can't find your professor and you don't have a text book. Really If you need to be told what to do at all times to feel secure and productive in your work, this position will be a challenge. We work with technical business documents, build websites and sell products. We launch videos and ensure they link properly with great descriptions and rich content that keeps search engines happy. We are constantly selling and pushing both information with products or courses. Not pushy, but always making available. You must be attentive to details and exactitude as a representative of our leader and training team.


By the way, this business is not political. We will not join in political hot-topics or causes for either left or right leaning parties. Our office and studio is located in Tigard, OR.

Preference is given to applicants in and near Tigard, OR for hybrid roles.

  • SCA or CQI coffee certifications, experiences professionally in coffee.

  • Recruiting learners, prospects, customers - Marketing work.
  • Negotiating, Converting, Proposing and Selling Products/Services - Sales work.
  • Managing an office, stock room, cleaning, day-to-day operations.
  • Blogging, PR, and professional or creative writing skills
  • Other relevant experiences

Pay & Remuneration: this role is new and must be built out / tested.

  • Starting wage will be based on applicants experience, availability and skill set.
  • Time may range from 10-30 hours weekly depending on the nature of projects and learners needs.
  • This position is both unpredictable and great for growth.
  • Growth in pay will follow with growth in results.
  • Commission and profit sharing will be made available.
  • We do not offer insurance, but participate in an HSA - Health Savings Account
  • We offer an Oregon-employer based IRA - Investment Retirement Account, for OR residents


Target Growth: this role, with the right person in place, can become a full time General Manager over the company or various divisions which grow during our tenure together.
