Civil Engineering Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Manager to join our team at Westlake Consultants, Inc. As a key member of our civil engineering department, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating small to medium-sized site civil projects, managing and mentoring civil staff, and establishing and maintaining client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate site civil projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Manage and mentor civil staff, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their professional goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including land use planning and surveying, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure the integrity and completeness of all civil designs, implementing strong QA/QC procedures.
  • Actively engage in professional organizations and industry events, staying up-to-date on the latest developments and best practices.
  • Assist with project billing and aged accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely financial management.
  • Schedule staff workload to meet deadlines, ensuring deliverables are met.
  • Perform Senior Project Manager duties, providing leadership and guidance to project teams.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience, with a background in site civil design, including private development and a combination of roadway, traffic, storm water, irrigation design, and utility relocation.
  • A solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, as well as environmental conditions and constraints for general civil projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients, staff, agencies, and firm management.
  • Experience managing project teams, estimating, labor allocations, and cost accounting methods.
  • A history of meeting project deadlines and budgets, with a strong track record of success.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydrology modeling, and MS software applications.
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Oregon PE license (required); licensure in other states is a plus.
