Job Title: Control Engineer

Job Type: 3-month contract, 5-10 hours/week

Location: Fremont, CA


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop temperature control strategies for semiconductor process chambers (batch as well as single wafer).
  • Interface with hardware, software, and process engineering teams to understand process specifications, hardware capabilities, and software platforms to architect temperature control solutions.
  • Implement robust, repeatable, and flexible temperature control schemes for a variety of processes & conditions.
  • Identify, analyze, and provide solutions and alternate approaches to complex problems using independent creativity and judgment.
  • Communicates findings and proposals to upper management.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science, with evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of control theory or complex systems in the industry
  • Expertise in control theory, especially development of PID and model-based control strategies for MIMO systems.
  • Expertise in using MATLAB/Simulink or other equivalent software platforms for development; experience in implementing control software in embedded systems is a plus.
  • Familiar with CFD simulation capabilities (e.g. ANSYS) and able to interface with the simulation team to drive studies to understand thermal and flow dynamics of process chambers.
  • Strong programming, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to function well in a diverse, team-focused, fast-paced environment with changing requirements.
