Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resource Management Specialist to join our team at the State Water Resources Control Board. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in protecting and restoring environmental water quality in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement projects to evaluate and resolve cases of water quality degradation through the development of water quality plans, amendments to the Basin Plan, and Total Maximum Daily Load projects (TMDLs) or TMDL alternatives.
  • Collect and assimilate information related to pollutants in the region.
  • Work with technical experts to develop watershed models and collect data pertaining to the fate and transport of pollutants.
  • Apply engineering skills to analyze sources and loadings of pollutants.
  • Update the Basin Plan to adopt Tribal Beneficial Uses.
  • Serve as the Regional Board's Tribal Affairs Liaison and oversee its Tribal Affairs Program.
  • Develop and implement projects to evaluate and restore water quality.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in water quality control, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of water quality regulations and policies.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and provide timely responses to internal/external customers.
