The Business Development (BD) Director is responsible for meeting sales targets as outlined by the company. The BD Director builds relationships with new clients and strengthens relationships with existing clients by professionally communicating company services, value and differentiation. The BD Director is proactive, organized and internally driven to deliver sales targets by following company sales processes and fulfilling assigned duties. Success in this role is directly correlated to sales attainment, company revenue generation, perception in the marketplace and client relationships.


Duties:

  • Understands relevant markets and gathers appropriate market data to develop and impact marketing, advertising, social media and/or client focused efforts.
  • Possesses a deep knowledge of service offerings and value propositions.
  • Develops and executes strategies to identify new business leads and opportunities.
  • Effectively influences and communicates to new/existing clients company services and value via phone/email, face to face meetings, remote, etc.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with new prospects, clients and opportunities that align with business strategy.
  • Follows company sales process(s) and fully leverages CRM including lead generations, client communications, proposal generations, contract close and transfer to operations.
  • Identifies and qualifies opportunities following company requirements to propose services by accurately developing scope and fees in a professionally developed proposal package.
  • Conducts marketing projects and runs an ROI analysis to determine best uses for company marketing dollars.
  • Negotiates contract term and conditions with clients and communicates/seeks approval for any contract, scope and/or fee deviations with management.
  • Meets key performance indicators/metrics for weekly, monthly and annual goals.
  • Meets regularly with Leadership Team providing sales related updates and strategic collaboration.
  • Seeks opportunities to coordinate continuing education events for strategic current and prospective clients, strategic partners, et al.
  • Provides input and suggestions for company provided collateral, social media, etc. ensuring messaging and content is impactful, compelling and accurately portrays PSE value including current certifications.
  • Leads social media and marketing efforts to ensure cohesive advertising and messaging to clients.
  • Provides strategic growth input to management to identify areas in need of business development and/or future service offerings.


Requirements 

  • BA/BS College Degree in business administration/management preferred, or similar experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Minimum 3-5 years field experience in a fast-paced and competitive market 
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience generating pipeline and selling with or through partners in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) space.
  • Experience in development of social media content, marketing materials, brand growth, and managing branding consistency 
  • Ability to work under daily/weekly deadlines in a fast-changing work environment 
  • A proven track record of overachievement and hitting sales targets 
  • Strong background with event planning and corporate sponsorships 
  • Credibility in selling at all levels and evidence of building strong relationships 
  • Highly polished and professional verbal and written communication 
  • Consultative or value-selling experience preferable 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including: Word, PowerPoint and Excel 
  • Prior CRM experience
  • Detail oriented with superior organizational skills 
  • Good problem solver and critical thinker 
  • Adaptable and able to multitask 
  • Exceptional time management skills 
  • Professional attitude and strong work ethic
