Job Purpose


The Electrical Assembler position is accountable for assembling or modifying electrical or electronic equipment or products. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: routing, wiring, assembling and installing wires, electrical and electronic components in sheet metal products or panels, as well as main control switch panels, according to current standard wiring specifications, using required hand tools, and equipment. There are no supervisory responsibilities.


Duties and Responsibilities


·        Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions

·        Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding equipment

·        Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications

·        Position, align, or adjust workpieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly

·        Installation of programs onto PLC’s

·        Cut wire using wire cutters

·        Connect wiring to accessories such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, etc. using hand tools

·        Conduct functional and continuity tests of electrical components and other electrical testing

·        Perform spot checks on products and parts to ensure adherence to approved quality standards

·        Understand and use computer programs such as SAP and accurately follow work instructions

·        Use software provided on a computer to load PLC and HMI programs

·        Troubleshoot electrical issues while consulting with various team members

·        Notify supervisor of product discrepancies or equipment malfunctions

·        Maintain clean work areas


Education and Experience


  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to work well with others, meet tight deadlines, and management of work schedule
  • Operational knowledge of a variety of hand tools
  • Effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities
  • Ability to focus on safety and quality
  • Basic computer skills required; basic PLC knowledge strongly preferred
  • 1-3 years of related electrical assembly experience
  • Prior electrical training/certification preferred


Work Environment


  • Professional office environment and occasional manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, grinding, vapor, dust and lubricants
  • Must adhere to company safety policies and wear the required personal protective equipment as needed


Physical Demands


  • Required to stand, bend, walk, sit, use hands to operate office equipment, talk, and hear
  • May occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to use of a variety of hand tools, wire cutters and other machinery


Travel


·        Minimal to no travel required for this position
