About the Role The Anti-Hate Regional Manager plays a critical role on the National Anti-Hate team by providing regional coverage in key geographic markets for TAAF (West, Midwest, South, and the East).

They will work closely with the National Director of Anti-Hate to help define and execute TAAF's programmatic goals; develop and strengthen TAAF's growing network of grantee nonprofits; and execute critical administrative, grant-making, capacity-building, and communications efforts for the organization.

When a potential Anti-Asian American hate and/or bias incident happens in their region, they will be part of TAAF's rapid response team.

The optimal candidate will believe in working strategically with transparency and accountability, embrace a culture of learning, work respectfully with compassion, kindness and gratitude, and seek to be inclusive and collaborative in decision making.

Understanding of the start up dynamic of TAAF, and the ability to work in a sometimes ambiguous environment that will be iterative, requiring creativity, flexibility, and humor.

Responsibilities Leadership Work with the National Director of Anti-Hate and other TAAF team members to identify goals, priorities, strategies, and timelines for each key region Provide support, guidance and input to the National Director of Anti-Hate and TAAF more broadly in navigating the political and organizational landscape Play supportive internal and external leadership roles to achieve TAAF's priorities Relationship Management Play a key role in building and maintaining a strong network of diverse Asian American organizations in their respective region (West, Midwest, East) Build strong on-the-ground relationships as needed with key stakeholders in large metro markets within respective region (i.e.

government, nonprofit, law enforcement) Engage grantee and TAAF National Network partner organizations to play leadership roles in TAAF program work and to share best practices, updates, and resources Lead efforts to assess and potentially expand portfolio of existing TAAF grantees, including doing research into potential new grantees, holding site visits and performing due diligence checks to ensure that the TAAF grantee portfolio effectively serves TAAF's mission Assist with developing and managing relationships with strategic allies and stakeholders Organizational Implement and strategically develop initiatives, training, programs and events from the ground up that support our regional partners and provide deeper connection (i.e.

Cities strategy) Partner with other TAAF team members to provide communications support as needed, both to TAAF staff and for grantees, such as engaging with media, preparing TAAF regional partners for media opportunities, and planning events Support TAAF's culture of evaluation and learning by working with the Data & Research team to integrate metrics into upcoming grants Participate in the Programs team working group on capacity strengthening for our grantee partners by assessing potential opportunities and partnerships Under the direction of the National Director of Anti-Hate, help plan and organize through leadership and/or convenings (i.e.

TAAF Talks, grantee convenings, etc) Work closely with other TAAF team members to support TAAF's successful grant-making efforts to a wide variety of grantees Represent TAAF in respective regions as needed (i.e.

panel discussions, speaking engagements, etc.) Experience building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and ability to work cross-functionally in a timely, humble, and collaborative manner Job Requirements Experience Minimum of three years of project management or supervisory experience, preferably in a social justice setting Understands the fundamentals of organizing and experience with assessing, developing, and supporting leaders in taking collective action Experience advocating for change on issues impacting the lives of community members a plus Experience and deep understanding of Asian American communities and culture, issues affecting the community, and familiarity with the Asian American community landscape; Existing strong relationships and familiarity with Asian American community groups or leaders in a specific geography or region a plus Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills, with experience in managing challenging dynamics, the foresight to identify and defuse conflicts before they occur, and proven ability to resolve conflicts or disagreement with partners A can-do problem-solving attitude - proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong comfort level with ambiguity, experimentation and learning, and consistent drive to 'figure it out' Strong organizational management skills, experience and a commitment to goal-oriented approaches and to clarity in roles Familiarity with philanthropy, partnerships, resource mobilization, coalition dynamics and relationship management Experience with assessing a geography's political landscape and building relationships with elected officials on local, state and federal levels a plus; and Strong cultural competence and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Working Hours Candidates must live in San Francisco or Seattle at the time of hire San Francisco-based staff work in the office 2 days per week, and the other days remotely Requires occasional weekend, off-hours, or evening work Compensation and Benefits TAAF provides competitive compensation and benefits including health insurance (including dental and vision) and a 401k retirement plan to all employees Anticipated salary for this position is $125,000 Equal Opportunity Employer TAAF is deeply committed to being a diverse, inclusive, and equitable place to work.
