Salary Range: non-exempt, hourly $25 - $30 an hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Legal Responsibilities (we train you): Administer oaths and participate/lead depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings, from your home, office, and remotely once licensed as a notary. Communicate with clients and multiple parties in a professional setting.

Technology Use: Transport, set up, and operate computer audio equipment to record legal proceedings in accordance with established guidelines, rules, and procedures. Administer web-conference sessions and facilitate group meetings.

Document Preparation: Prepare legal proceeding audio files, exhibits, and documents for transcription and create annotations and keyword lists, maintaining note of speakers' identifications, marking exhibits, and preparing files for subsequent transcription.

Administrative Support: When not in a legal proceeding, perform other administrative duties as needed by leadership or departmental needs.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Notary: Ability to obtain a state Notary Commission and administer oaths (we help)

AAERT Certification: Required in some states; if not already AAERT Certified, we train you

Flexibility: Ability to adapt to varying schedules and tasks on a flexible/on call schedule; This role requires reporting onsite to various locations throughout the week on a set schedule

Quick Typist: Typing speed of 50+ word per minute with a high rate of accuracy.

Tech Enthusiast: Proficient with the use of computer technology including software applications and web-conference platforms as well as integrated computer technologies and devices; will be trained to operate specialized computer audio equipment in accordance to established procedures, court orders, rules, and stipulations.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Writing Skills: Strong proficiency in writing

Legal Experience: Background in legal reporting or knowledge of legal terminology and proceedings
