My client is urgently looking for a Project Engineer, with a Colorado PE license, to deliver subsurface utility engineering (SUE) and utility coordination projects through planning and design. Must be an independent and proactive leader with strong communication skills, who works collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Must be fluent in any of the following areas: sub-surface utility design, public infrastructure projects (transportation, major storm or water infrastructure).

Job Duties

  • Develop and oversee designs for water and sanitary sewer line distribution.
  • Resolve utility conflicts by coordinating with clients, design teams, and utility companies.
  • Lead the creation of SUE plans, cost estimates, and civil-related reports.
  • Manage project team tasks, resource allocation, sub-consultants, and CADD staff for design.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and documentation standards while managing multiple projects' scope, budget, and schedules.
  • Review and incorporate CDOT, RTD, or local municipal design standards and obtain permits for field investigations and design.
  • Review and stamp plan sets as the Engineer-of-Record, as necessary.
  • Meet financial objectives. Identify potential project issues and work with the leadership team to devise and implement mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
  • Mentor junior staff.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience.
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PDF experience.
  • Working knowledge of CADD-related software (Microstation ORD and/or AutoCAD).
  • Effective negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Educational and Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, survey, geophysics, or related field required.
  • CO P.E. license required.
  • ASCE 38 training or experience preferred.
