Our client is seeking a qualified Project Engineer with a Colorado PE license to manage subsurface utility engineering (SUE) and utility coordination initiatives during the planning and design phases.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated leader with excellent communication abilities, capable of thriving in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee the distribution systems for water and sanitary sewer lines.
- Address utility conflicts by liaising with clients, design teams, and utility providers.
- Lead the development of SUE plans, cost assessments, and civil engineering reports.
- Coordinate project team assignments, resource distribution, sub-consultants, and CADD personnel for design tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and documentation standards while managing the scope, budget, and timelines of multiple projects.
- Review and integrate CDOT, RTD, or local municipal design standards and secure permits for field investigations and design work.
- Review and stamp plan sets as the Engineer-of-Record when necessary.
- Achieve financial targets by identifying potential project challenges and collaborating with the leadership team to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff members.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in civil engineering.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PDF software.
- Familiarity with CADD software (Microstation ORD and/or AutoCAD).
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent technical writing capabilities.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License.
Educational and Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, surveying, geophysics, or a related discipline is required.
- Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
- ASCE 38 training or relevant experience is preferred.
