Job Title: Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)

The Infusion RN is a licensed professional responsible for providing evidence-based care to adult patients undergoing cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Collaborating with the healthcare team, the Infusion RN delivers patient-centered care, demonstrating expertise in infusion therapy, oncology nursing practices, safe handling of drugs, and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct nursing assessments, identifying changes in patient status and recognizing adverse reactions
  • Communicate treatment information and side effects, ensuring medication reconciliation
  • Review abnormal lab values, communicate with providers, and ensure appropriate treatment parameters
  • Administer chemotherapy via various routes, monitor for adverse reactions, and provide necessary care
  • Collaborate with the team on treatment compliance, documentation, and patient condition changes
  • Address patient concerns, provide follow-up treatments, and offer education on treatments and side effects

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); BSN enrollment required within 2 years
  • Current ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred:

  • Two years of oncology patient care experience
  • ONCC certification (OCN, BMTCN, and/or CBCN) to be obtained within 1 year
