Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey.

Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position exists to optimize the utilization of physical assets and technology resources to

transport the highest quality products in the most efficient and effective manner, reduce costs

and increase operating profit, allowing for smooth operation, high-quality workmanship,

competitive costs, and a clean and safe working environment. This position will strive for

continual improvement in every area of Railcar Maintenance involvement, resulting ultimately in

a profitable and competitive position for our Company.

II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Equipment Reliability:

Provide Maintenance support to the Railcar department which will enable the department to achieve smooth operation, and avoid unscheduled loading interruptions.

This will be achieved by utilizing best practices, bench marking, planning, failure-root cause analysis, initiation and development of continuous improvement techniques, maintenance procedures, practices and processes.


Maintenance Performance:
Successful Maintenance performance will result in a reduction of

unscheduled work and toward achieving 100% planned and scheduled maintenance activities. This includes communicating and working with Operations continuously to establish equipment criticality and providing standby equipment for critical equipment.

Historical files shall be established and well maintained to allow for correct diagnoses of equipment failures and performance of equipment maintenance.


Maintenance Support:
Provide support to operating units to ensure proper knowledge on equipment.

Provide maintenance support, including Preventative Maintenance, backup-up programs, supporting technicians with necessary information and or scheduling training, and any other activity needed.


Initiate Action as the Critical Liaison:

Coordinate with multiple departments, cross-functional representatives, and key external contacts/decision-makers on various decision-making processes to impact Department goals and results optimally.

Manage, Analyze, Integrate, and Administer Solutions to

Improve Efficiency:

Gather, compile, analyze, report, and make recommendations with critical impact on production planning, credit, quality, logistics, and customer service.

Comply with company policy/procedures to streamline day-to-day processes, workflow, and related practices.

THM:
Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping

Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

A. TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA

  • Previous Related Experience Required
Ten (10) years' experience in Mechanical Maintenance field with at least three (3) years in railcar maintenance required. AAR M1003 quality assurance program auditing preferred.

  • Technical Skills Required To Perform This Job
Knowledge in the maintenance of tank and hopper railcars and knowledge of the

FRA and AAR regulations and requirements.

Personal computer and applicable software including the ability to learn new

systems that the company introduces.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Good business writing ability.

High School graduate or equivalent

  • Other Certification/Training Required To Gain Function-Related Technical Knowledge AAR M1003 Quality Assurance Advanced Auditors and Root Cause and Corrective
