The

Endo/GI Center at Somerville Hospital

helps patients with a variety of digestive disorders. It includes a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite with four procedure rooms.

Some of the procedures we perform include the following:
Colonoscopy, Upper Endoscopy, ERCP, 24 hour PH Monitoring, Capsule Endoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Esophageal Motility.

The

Patient Access Representative II

provides clerical and clinical support services to department providers allowing for effective patient care. Explains site routines and clinical procedures to patients. This position will provide both clerical and clinical support in an urgent care setting, allowing for effective patient care.

Under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse, patient care responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

preparing patients for well and sick visits according to protocol, performing hearing and vision tests, specimen collection and transporting as needed, height, weight, vitals and other point of care testing per protocol as well as assisting providers as needed.

Job Experience/Certification Requirements
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.

Certifications:
Maintains current Basic Life Support Linguistic

Capabilities:
Ability to write and verbally communicate in English. Knowledge of a second language preferred.

Work Experience:
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred. Minimum of one year administrative duties in a clinical setting preferred.
