As a Staff Accountant you will:
  • Comply and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
  • Prepares financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports for multiple reinsurance companies
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Completes presentations on reinsurance company financial position, including results of operations, production reports, underwriting results, projected financial position and reinsurance reporting
  • Submits monthly reports to Dealers and Agents for reinsurance ceding statements, trust statements and underwriting experience reports
  • Reconciles totals in monthly, electronic, product information files to system reports to ensure accuracy and timely submits files to primary insurance carrier
  • Drafts notifications to Trustees of monthly trust account transfers
  • Monitors compliance with statutory accounting principles and company procedures
  • Completes special projects as assigned

This is a Full-Time, Direct Hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from four-year college or university with zero to three years accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills: MS Word, Excel, Access, Internet software, E-mail

Salary: $60,000 annually
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
