The Business Development & Events Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the planning, organization, execution, and on-site management of weddings, corporate, and large-scale hospitality events.

This dynamic, important role in the company serves as a primary point of contact to our diverse set of clients and partners, so attention to detail, communication, organizational skills in a fast-paced environment, a knack for working with teams, ability to multitask, and an energetic attitude are all essential qualities to possess.

Time management and the ability to work well under pressure with a high level of creativity is required. This position pays commissions in addition to a base salary.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming inquiries with a focus on hospitality events at Lakeside
  • Expand our client base, increase revenue and enhance our presence in the market
  • Assist in 360degree event coverage: field inquiry, close event, negotiate and create contracts, manage calendar, relay event information to onsite staff, and execute event onsite as needed/requested
  • Follow up with clients after completion of event
  • Work in tandem with executive management to achieve sales forecasts
  • Attend Event Planner Networking Events and other industry gatherings individually or with a members of the event and/or hospitality department.
  • Maintain and develop a database of contacts
  • Work with the marketing department, the creative team and events team to develop social media promotions and printed marketing collateral
  • Research and outreach to publications, and advertising platforms that will generate leads
  • Participate in expos and seminars that result in new client leads and development of event sales knowledge
  • Develop new relationships with outside vendors and event planners
  • Work with events staff and onsite management in execution of all events
  • Attend walkthrough with client
  • Assist with managing onsite production and cleanup for events as necessary
  • Communicate with onsite management and staff
  • Obtain signed contracts from clients and track all event documentation including payments
  • Assist with event bookings and obtain menu for all food and beverage
  • Create BEO, Floor Plan, Run of Show, and Rundown as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7 years experience coordinating special events within food and beverage industry
  • Great interpersonal skills, customer service oriented, professional, attentive, and cheerful
  • Responsive and proactive followthrough and followup
  • Financially minded: understand event costs and control implementation
  • Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions
  • Interest in hospitality and event production industries
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients and prospects
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Develop and consistently strengthen relationships to leverage future potential repeat business

Compensation Structure:

  • Base salary plus 3% commissions.

Pay:
Up to $75,000.00 per year
