Job Description

Quatrro Business Support Services is looking for an experienced Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)/ Assistant Vice President (AVP) for their not-for-profit division. This role involves overseeing the full-cycle human resources functions for multiple clients, including onboarding and offboarding processes. While primarily remote, it does require occasional local travel to client sites in the Chicago area.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for nonprofit clients, offering strategic human resources advice and guidance to support their organizational goals, covering areas such as onboarding/offboarding, compliance with employment laws, people operations, recruitment, benefits administration, and union negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment regulations at federal, state, and local levels, including completing necessary checklists and audits.
  • Stay informed about HR trends, best practices, regulatory updates, and new HR technologies.
  • Administer benefits plans, including retirement and health benefit plans.
  • Conduct HR presentations for key client stakeholders.
  • Support in resolving client disputes.
  • Provide diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice consulting services tailored to each client's mission and requirements.
  • Manage HRIS implementation and transitions.
  • Update client personnel policies to comply with laws and client needs.
  • Offer consultation on compensation philosophy and banding recommendations.
  • Support client learning and development initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee team tasks and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Manage a team, providing mentorship, training, and development opportunities.
  • Review team performance and provide feedback.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Present on technical and management topics at events.
  • Assist in managing contract scope, pricing, and staffing for profitability.
  • Engage with the client's community through volunteer activities.
  • Perform additional requested duties.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Preferably a graduate degree in a related field.
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/PHR/SPHR certification desirable.
  • Minimum of ten years in senior HR management.
  • Prior experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly in health and human service organizations.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal programs in relevant service areas.

Travel Requirements:

This role is hybrid, allowing work from a home or local office, with necessary travel to client sites. Occasional additional travel may be required.
