ABOUT THE ROLE
As the middle person between our stores and Sysco, you'll tackle challenges like managing product shortages, finding suitable substitutes, and keeping our ordering system up to date. This is an office-based role that requires attention to detail.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Order Guide Management: Keep the order guide current for our restaurants' Sysco orders, ensuring a smooth and accurate process.
- Inventory Oversight: Aid stores in handling out-of-stock items, identifying replacements, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Data Analysis: Dive into purchasing data to review pricing agreements and spot any irregularities, using insights to enhance procurement strategies.
- Building Relationships: Cultivate strong ties with suppliers like Sysco to guarantee top-notch service and support for our eateries.
- Market Knowledge: Stay up to date on market trends, new products, and substitutes, sharing insights with our stores to nip supply problems in the bud.
- Quality Control: Supervise product quality upon delivery and offer guidance on ordering procedures to maintain our high standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Share vital information across the company, work independently, and collaborate with other teams to align purchasing plans with our business goals.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 1-2 years of experience in the food industry, particularly dealing with food suppliers and inventory systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to interpret complex data and derive actionable conclusions.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel and Smartsheets, and a good grasp of supply chain principles and trends.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This role involves being able to see, hear, and communicate effectively. You may need to move around, lift moderate weights, and work in various weather conditions. You'll also spend time on a computer, and business travel might be part of the job. Adaptability in a fast-paced environment is essential.
