SUMMARY

Responsible for delivering exceptional service at the Bar and Living Room in line with restaurant and hotel standards. Responsibilities include bar setup and breakdown, cocktail/wine/food knowledge, service, cleaning, reporting, cash handling, and supporting the cocktail program advancement. Participate in meetings, engage with guests, and ensure efficient beverage sales.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Maintain extensive knowledge of Forbes and Inn's standards, wine, cocktail recipes, industry trends, dining areas, equipment, policies, and procedures
  2. Ensure timely and accurate inventories, monitor staff performance, and provide excellent guest service
  3. Actively sell beverages, enforce liquor regulations, and supervise bar/lounge cleanliness
  4. Assist in implementing a creative liquor program and communicate menu updates to the staff
  5. Attend meetings and tastings, support sustainability initiatives, and submit to direction as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • High School graduate
  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Previous experience as a bartender or cocktail server
  • Proficient English communication skills

Desirable:

  • High school graduate with college education
  • Training in liquor, wine, food service, or Culinary
  • Certification in alcohol awareness program
  • Familiarity with POS systems
  • Guest relations training

SKILLS

Essential:

  • Clear English communication skills in person and over the phone
  • Basic math and legible writing abilities
  • Physical strength, endurance, and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving, and suggestive selling skills
  • Knowledge of POS systems and security protocols
  • Capability to anticipate guest needs and work independently

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of local trends and geography, gourmet food, and customer service
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, bilingual in English and Spanish
