M&a Corporate Researcher

Tampa, Florida, United States Benchmark International CSSM, Full time

Our team is looking for an experienced corporate researcher to build and maintain libraries of current market data on a changing variety of industries for use in marketing presentations.

Ideally, the researcher would also have the skill necessary to package targeted results for the team ahead of sales presentations but the ability to proactively find, catalog, and abstract the information form the core competencies required for this position.

The researcher will work in our Tampa office from 8:30 to 5:30 pm alongside our operating team in order to learn the precise needs of our team, refine the researching processes, and assist in providing follow on research when required.

Responsibilities:

Success in this role will require:

  • Working cooperatively with the team, our sales group, and our marketing department looking to secure new engagements and identify counterparties for our current portfolio of engagements.
  • Using all available techniques and resources to collect the relevant data in a prompt manner.
  • Bringing new sources and techniques to the process, if not initially, as the role develops.
  • Learning the unique aspects of our business (mergers and acquisitions) and customizing the research and summaries to those needs.
  • Availability to occasionally work outside normal business hours at times, whether early or late, as required from time to time.
  • In office attendance from 8:30 to 5:30 five days a week.
  • No unfavorable history with FINRA, the SEC, or any state regulatory agency.

Job Requirements

As a one-of-a-kind member in our organization, you will be an energetic and passionate individual with a positive and highly motivated mindset.

You will have a spirited desire and eagerness to succeed.

  • Experience in this type of research.
  • Familiarity with new sources/ideas for improving and speeding our existing researching processes.
  • The ability to write strong drafts for the marketing department to aid in building their sales collateral.
  • The ability and readiness to perform under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines.
The successful applicant should have most of the following skills and be eager to acquire the remainder:

  • The ability to learn the financial and market dynamics of new industries in relatively short periods.
  • Competency in analyzing industry data to describe current and longterm trends.
  • Mining social media sites and public records for relevant information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work as the sole industry researcher on the team, supervised by personnel who are not skilled researchers and are therefore unable to demonstrate how to perform your responsibilities.
  • Ability to consistently present yourself in a professional manner in keeping with Benchmark International's image (as shown, for example, on the company's web site).

Salary

On target annual compensation for the corporate researcher is $50,000 to $65,000 but can exceed this amount for a researcher with extensive skills, able to provide immediate improvements, strong legal research skills, significant financial analysis abilities, and/or the ability to essentially write the sales collateral independently.

The researcher will receive a bi-weekly salary based on experience.

Benefits

As with all Benchmark International US employees, this position includes paid time off, medical, dental, vision, and AD&D insurance as well as the opportunity to contribute to a Dependent FSA, an FSA and a 401(k) with company matching.

Social Responsibility
