We seek a highly motivated, passionate, and collaborative scientist with demonstrated experience in oncology discovery biology to join BMS in Cambridge, MA. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of tumor intrinsic cancer biology, cancer dependencies or synthetic lethality. Experiences in working with small molecule agents or degraders is preferrable.

**Job Summary**

This laboratory-based position requires a highly motivated, passionate, and creative individual that demonstrate the ability to work across a highly complexed environment to advance preclinical programs from target identification/validation through IND enabling stages. The ideal candidate will have experience in laboratory-based research in the areas of tumor intrinsic biology, cancer cell signaling and mechanisms of response to targeted therapies. This position will offer the candidate the opportunity to work broadly across different therapeutic target classes and drug modalities while developing strong collaborations with colleagues from our supportive line functions (including medicinal chemistry, biochemical screening, in vivo pharmacology and translational research. The successful candidate will demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication, capable of presenting scientific results to multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders. **Responsibilities**

+ Build and execute cellular assays to support drug discovery campaigns, mechanism of action and target validation studies.

+ Coordinate planning and acquisition of study materials, assay validation, troubleshoot assays and independently conduct rigorous data analysis and interpretation.

+ Execute a wide variety of cellular and molecular techniques to validate and characterize genetic or small molecule perturbations of targets and downstream pathways, such as CRISPR/RNAi tool design/generation, Western blot, qPCR, ELISA, immunoprecipitations, luminescence assays, and phenotypic assays.

+ Collaborate with colleagues in chemistry, biochemistry, and structural biology to evaluate and advance compounds for programs and platform efforts.

+ Create slides and conduct presentations highlighting assay development, experimental results and next steps at lab meetings; Learn and successfully present to different stakeholders including project and lab teams.

+ Contribute to evaluation and development of new approaches and technologies within the biology group.

+ Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records in an ELN for all experiments performed in accordance with company policy.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelors Degree

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ A B.S. with a minimum of 3 years, or an M.S. with a minimum of 1 years of industry experience with hands-on research experience in cancer biology, cell signaling and molecular biology is required.

+ Demonstrated independence in experimental design, execution, data analysis and troubleshooting is highly desired.

+ Hands on experience with a wide range of in vitro cellular and biochemical assays such as cell culture, cell line engineering, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, ELISAs, and reporter assays is required.

+ Experience with flow cytometry and high-content imaging platforms is a plus.

+ Experience working with small molecule drug discovery is highly desired.

+ Proficiency in utilizing software such as Graph Pad, Microsoft office for data analysis and figure generation is required.

+ Attention to detail with excellent organizational and record keeping skills is required.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people, internally and externally is required.
