Position Summary
We invite applications for a research associate position focusing on the exploration of common-sense reasoning, particularly in relation to theory-of-mind and pragmatics. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a leading expert in the field.
Research Focus
The primary research will investigate aspects of 'scripted' behavior, examining how individuals interpret others' actions as automatic or routine, and the implications of these perceptions. Candidates with an interest in this area will be favored.
Responsibilities
The role encompasses a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
1. Training and mentoring research assistants.
2. Designing experiments and conducting data collection and analysis.
3. Preparing manuscripts and assisting in grant writing.
4. Collaborating with the research team and associated laboratories.
Position Duration
This is a one-year position with the possibility of extension for up to two additional years, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, including health insurance and funding for professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a related discipline. Strong candidates will demonstrate substantial experience in empirical research, showcasing skills in experimental design, data management, and effective communication.
