NCTAMS PAC provides comprehensive telecommunications support to war-fighters throughout the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Area of Responsibility. This position manages 4 Operations Centers:
- Wahiawa, Hawaii Satellite Communications (SATCOM)
- Backbone of the U.S. military communication, offering reliable high-throughput telecommunications
- Supports a worldwide population of UHF band users and provides increased communication capabilities
- Kaneohe, Hawaii Tactical Support Communications (TSCOMM)
- Provides rapid, reliable, secure communications support for deployed forces
- Naval Radio Transmitting Facility (NRTF), Lualualei
- Provides operational Command and Control communications with VLF and LF radio spectrums
- NCTAMS PAC Det. Kojarena
- Provides beyond-line-of-sight communications via Wideband Global Satellite Communications (WGS / SATCOM) and MUOS satellites
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of system operators and ensure timely communication
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and assure maximum availability of assets
- Resolve disputes, train operators, and provide timely reports on equipment status
- Maintain the site's security and conduct periodic security rounds
Working Environment:
Flexible work schedule including on-call support.
Physical Activities:
Ability to lift and carry specified weights horizontally and vertically.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
- IAT Level II certified with relevant security and OS/CE certification
- Experience in SATCOM, network system operations, expeditionary military network operations, COOP planning, and cyber security
- Experience managing personnel covered by Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA)
Experience / Skills:
- 15 years of general experience with minimum 10 years specialized technical experience
- Broad knowledge of SATOM/Global Teleport site and systems
- Domain expertise in Satellite Communications (SATCOM), network operations, and project management
- Experience with facilities and cyber security
