NATURE OF WORK:

This position involves administrative and supervisory responsibilities overseeing the daily operations of a Municipal golf course. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and supervising golf course activities, as well as acting as a liaison for food and beverage services. The Golf Course Manager will also implement marketing strategies to boost participation and revenue.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

  • Manages daily functions of the Golf Course and Pro Shop
  • Supervises operations, including contract management with maintenance and food service contractors
  • Develops annual budgets to maximize revenues
  • Assigns responsibilities and monitors department activities
  • Prepares financial reports and monitors revenue generation
  • Works closely with maintenance and food service contractors
  • Establishes Standard Operating Procedures and rules for course usage
  • Manages staff, including hiring and performance evaluations
  • Coordinates special activities, programs, and tournaments

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Extensive knowledge of golf principles and operations
  • Experience in budget administration and financial analysis
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to design and implement marketing efforts

MINIMUM OF ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred qualifications include PGA Class A membership and a degree in Parks and Recreation Management or related field. Candidates should have at least five years of golf course management experience and demonstrate strong business and computer skills, sales, and marketing expertise.
