We are currently looking for a Video Management Field Engineer to join our team. As a Video Management Field Engineer on a subcontract with Schneider Electric, you will be dedicated to supporting the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) by integrating, maintaining, and supporting their IP Security Center (IPSC) environment. The IPSC, supplied by Schneider Electric, is a sophisticated Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) system that centralizes control of all security devices within the network. You will play a key role in ensuring the seamless operation and enhancement of WMATA's security infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and Maintain IPSC (IP Security Center Environment):
Oversee the functionality and upkeep of the IPSC, ensuring all security devices and systems are efficiently managed through this central software.
Maintain and update infrastructure components, including maps, devices, and graphical user interfaces (GUIs).
Manage Windows Servers Running ISPC:
Administer and support a complex network of Windows Servers, consisting of three dual-node and two single-node servers, each with associated SQL databases.
Coordinate maintenance and operational tasks between two dual-node servers used for production, and manage the remaining servers dedicated to testing.
Integrate New Locations and Devices:
Integrate blueprints, camera, and alarm locations for new real-world locations into the IPSC system.
Develop and configure scenes, maps, and GUIs for new and existing locations, ensuring accurate representation and navigation.
Design and Integrate New Tools:
Utilize the customization capabilities of IPSC to design and implement new tools tailored to user requirements.
Lead the entire lifecycle of tool development from brainstorming and design to testing and implementation.
Investigation of Issues:
Conduct thorough investigations to diagnose and resolve issues affecting machines or servers running IPSC.
Provide detailed root cause analysis and develop effective resolutions to prevent recurrence.
Quality Assurance:
Perform rigorous quality assurance testing for any new additions or upgrades to the IPSC before their deployment in the production environment.
Documentation:
Author comprehensive documentation for all aspects of the IPSC, including user guides, process guides, system documentation, issue resolutions, and training materials.
Teach Users:
Conduct training sessions for new users on the basics of the IP Security Center (IPSC), covering effective utilization to enhance daily operations. Address questions and concerns and go over the documentation.
Liaison with the Software Support Team:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all interactions with IPSC's parent company and support team, as well as other third-party vendors.
Responsible for creating support tickets, coordinating meetings, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration to support WMATA's needs.
Perform other duties as needed to help fulfill our mission.
Required Skills:
Basic knowledge of programming languages
