Education:


- Bachelor's degree in Fashion/Apparel Design or related field



Qualifications:


- Pattern Development: (Basic Awareness) Understands the principles of basic flat pattern and draping


- Human Factors: (Working Knowledge) Understands basic ergonomic principles as they relate to Soft Goods Design


- Materials & Construction Techniques: (Working Knowledge) Capable of selecting fabric and filler materials appropriate to product specifications. Ability to design production ready concepts


- Design for Manufacture: (Working Knowledge) Familiar with phases, activities and deliverables in the manufacturing process. Assists in application of basic principles to solve manufacturing problems


- Development Models: (Working Knowledge) Ability to sew prototypes with high accuracy, comfortable working with high complexity designs using various types of industrial sewing machines


- Design Fundamentals: (Working Knowledge) Demonstrated skill in rapid ideation, form development, drawing ability, material knowledge and market awareness


- Visual Communication: (Working Knowledge) Understands the principles of visual composition and is able to create compelling visual presentations


- Digital Design 2D/3D: (Working Knowledge) Demonstrated ability to use vector, raster and presentation software


- Three years + of relevant experience in corporate or consulting design in Soft Goods/Fashion


- Ability to travel at least once per quarter


- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite


- Excellent communication and presentation skills


- Demonstrate ability to work in team environments


- Ability to present in English



This person will conceptualize and develop new products that improve the lives of our customers. In this role you will be involved in all aspects of Soft Goods Design. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create compelling customer experiences for the next generation of products.



Responsibilities:


- As Soft Goods Designer you will work with teams located in Client


- Taking direction from the Soft Goods Design Manager, you will create and develop designs for new products and provide support for updating existing products when required


- You will take responsibility for managing your own workload to ensure deadlines are quality standards are met


- Utilizing a broad creative skillset, you will define aspects of form, aesthetics and the interfaces between users and products


- Employing strong people skills, you will partner with core Design specialisms such as ID, Color Trend, Fashion, Usability and Craftsmanship


- This role requires an individual who can work independently as well as directly with our US based Design Team


- The role offers opportunities to collaborate with Marketing, R&D, and Supply Chain business teams from our global offices in Client


- Your skills and experiences will be used to ensure Brand and Product architecture guidelines are being met
