ROLE OVERVIEW:

Join our team to conduct advanced aerodynamic and aero-thermal analysis for the enhancement of high-speed and hypersonic weapon systems. Leverage Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools and Finite Element Analysis methods on High Performance Computing (HPC) platforms to assess trajectory-based aerodynamic heating and system performance. Contribute to the creation of specialized software solutions for challenges in high-speed aerodynamics and aero-thermal applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilize analysis tools for the examination of high-speed or hypersonic flow scenarios and components.
  • Engage in programming tasks using C++, Fortran, MATLAB, or similar scientific programming platforms.
  • Produce detailed reports, presentations, and technical documents.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Primarily office-based role.
  • Required to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks like keyboarding and phone operations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum qualification of BS in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or a related field, while an MS degree is preferred.
  • 0 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Eligibility for and maintenance of a Secret Security Clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship.
DESIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Fortran, Matlab, and Python.
  • Familiarity with various CFD software including:
    • NASA Fun3D and Fun3D-HE CFD Solvers.
    • US3D CFD Solver.
    • DPLR3D CFD Solver.
    • NASA Overflow and related meshing tools.
    • Pointwise mesher.
    • Tecplot.
    • ParaView.
  • Experience with FEA software like:
    • Abaqus.
    • Ansys.
    • Nastran.
    • Sierra/SM.
