The Role:
The Engineering Group Lead oversees Manufacturing Engineering functions for powertrain/propulsion programs. They are tasked with guiding their team to develop and implement processes that meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct assessments for process changes and related investment needs
  • Supervise engineering scope definition, RFQ's, sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and equipment installation
  • Prioritize NNM powertrain program requests and ensure timely and within-budget completion
  • Manage NM program facilities aspects, including site preparation and machine installation
  • Lead program activities to ensure successful implementation and tracking of Scope, Timing, and Cost
  • Implement corporate production methodology and support activities using advanced SPW tools for systematic problem-solving
  • Develop/improve process and equipment standards in manufacturing engineering
  • Support Propulsion Manufacturing Plants in Kokomo Indiana while collaborating with North American and Global CoC initiatives
  • Drive standardization across all plant locations
  • Lead procurement, design, build, install, qualify, and launch facilities and equipment supporting processes

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electric hairpin stator and rotor manufacturing
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and implement SPW principles in a bargaining unit environment
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, daily, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to work at off-site locations and travel internationally
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and data analysis capabilities

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Ability to summarize technical data for executive presentations
  • Experience in Powertrain Manufacturing
  • Experience in high-volume electrical motor manufacturing, including Stator and Rotor processes
