The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is looking for an Assistant Professor with expertise in cardiothoracic surgery. Applicants must hold an M.D. or equivalent degree and be certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or equivalent.
- Teaching responsibilities involve instructing medical students, surgical residents, and fellows.
- Clinical duties include supporting the multidisciplinary valve program, TAVR procedures, and caring for patients with thoracic aortic disease, valvular issues, and coronary artery disease.
- Research activities may include engaging in clinical research related to adult cardiac surgery and thoracic aortic disease.
The ideal candidate will work within Penn's Division of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, collaborating with a team of accomplished cardiologists. Specialized training in thoracic aortic procedures is desired, offering an opportunity to contribute to the Translational Center of Excellence/Penn Aorta Center.
