Job Description:

The Head of Regulatory Affairs will be integral to core strategic objectives of BeZero Carbon, namely:
  • Driving the adoption of ratings and risk-based tools in carbon markets, including through regulations
  • Developing our strategy for engagement with countries and regulators
This role will report directly to the Chief Innovation Officer & Co-Founder. You will lead a team of two top-performing direct reports to support this work in London, with the opportunity to grow the team in future. This role will require some flexibility on working hours in order to manage time zone differences.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Identifying opportunities and ongoing engagements with all countries relevant to BeZero
  • Developing BeZero's strategic engagement agenda for broader carbon markets, engaging with governments and regulators to implement this
  • Providing thought-leading research and advisory to support our strategic goals
  • Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, up to C level, across the business as required (Research, Policy, Product, Commercial etc.)
  • Directly engage with US and other policymakers to shape emerging regulatory landscape
  • Build a compelling evidence base and argument for appropriate regulation of carbon markets
Candidate profile:
  • Strong knowledge of the carbon markets and climate policy
  • A strong network in the climate policy sphere, both public and private
  • Preferably experienced in a regulatory / policy focused role in a private sector organisation
  • US based with willingness to travel
