About the Role

Oscar Health is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Affairs Manager to join our Corporate Counsel team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing the Independent Dispute Resolution process and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and Train Colleagues: Provide guidance and support to team members on IDR processes, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Manage Regional Matters: Oversee the review process for assigned regional matters, ensuring adherence to metrics, deadlines, and tracking procedures.
  • Prepare Briefings: Develop concise, user-friendly briefings based on case needs, providing valuable insights to support informed decision-making.
  • Support Sustainable Processes: Collaborate with the team to develop and implement processes that simplify our growing team's outputs while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Present to Internal Audiences: Share knowledge and expertise with internal stakeholders on IDR processes, results, and policy developments.
  • Partner with Regulatory Affairs Colleagues: Work closely with Regulatory Affairs Counsel, PRO Counsel, and partners to problem-solve and develop new processes.
  • Manage Related Tasks: Assign and manage related tasks as directed by the Government Affairs Counsel.
  • Support Team Members: Provide guidance and support to team members with development plans and opportunities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in legal studies, political science, public policy, public administration, public health, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of legal or regulatory experience, with a focus on the health plan/managed care space.
  • People Management Experience: 2+ years of experience managing teams and developing people.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Westlaw, legislative tracking software, and Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with IDR: Previous experience working with Independent Dispute Resolution is highly valued.
  • Experience in Personal Injury Law: Experience working in personal injury law firms or as a paralegal is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Affordable Care Act: Knowledge of the Affordable Care Act and the No Surprises Act is desirable.
  • Experience with Oscar Markets: Experience working with Oscar markets is a plus.
  • Experience Working with Attorneys and Stakeholders: Experience working with attorneys and internal stakeholders is highly valued.
