Position Summary:
The Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs is responsible for ensuring that The Avon / LG H&H US products, including cosmetics, OTC items, dietary supplements, and devices, comply with regulatory standards from inception to market launch in North America. This role involves compiling and assessing all product-related data, such as formulations, specifications, and compliance documentation, while also overseeing the approval of claims, labeling, and marketing materials. The Senior Manager will communicate new regulations to key stakeholders and assess their implications for The Avon / LG H&H US product range in North America.

Reporting Structure:
You will report directly to the Head of Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in project teams within designated categories to guarantee the timely completion of necessary documentation throughout the development process, culminating in final formula approval and product launch.
  • Uphold and ensure adherence to The Avon’s ingredient policies and relevant product regulations.
  • Verify that claims are compliant with both The Avon’s and local regulatory standards, ensuring consistency across labels, advertisements, and other consumer communications.
  • Review and authorize North American artwork.
  • Manage US regulatory submissions, including FDA drug and establishment registrations, supplement notifications, WERCS, and EPA and state pesticide registrations.
  • Monitor US state and federal regulations affecting the cosmetic and personal care sectors, including OTC products.
  • Assist in adapting to forthcoming regulatory changes, including specific monitoring and implementation for states such as California.
Qualifications:
  • Possession of a scientific degree.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs within a regulated industry, ideally in skin and personal care products, including OTC.
  • Experience in product development is highly desirable.
  • Strong background in skin and personal care, particularly in OTC claim evaluation.
  • Proven track record of compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, Health Canada, EPA, FTC, cGMP, ISO).
  • Exceptional written communication skills, particularly in detail-oriented and technical documentation.
  • Experience in liaising with cross-functional teams and clients, including delivering verbal presentations.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Capability to meet deadlines while remaining adaptable to shifting priorities and interruptions.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
  • Proficient in the full suite of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
