Position Summary

The intern will assist in a wide range of duties, including analyzing and compiling data, preparing reports and reconciliations, and learning varied accounting activities in the homebuilding industry.

Specific Job Duties

Accounting:
Assist in preparation of monthly bank and GL reconciliations.
Compiling home closing packages.
Prepare documentation for monthly draw packets.
Assist project accountants with job costing and reconciliations.
Ensure the proper completion of lien releases and legal liability documentation.
Interact with vendors to resolve issues and concerns regarding invoices, payments and insurance.
Maintain vendor information files.
Ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:
Provide management with accurate reports when requested regarding subcontractor/vendor billing status, cost status, etc.
Assist with all other special projects and tasks as directed by management.
Position Qualifications
Education
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance/business degree with significant accounting coursework or equivalent experience
Experience
Prior accounting related experience preferred but not mandatory
Skills
Proficiency in Excel mandatory
Effective verbal and written communication skills required
Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills

Base Salary:
The expected base salary range for this position is between $20 per hour, depending on experience and skillset. Base Salary is paid bi-weekly, every other Friday.
