Position Overview:

The Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and contributing to the overall financial health of the company. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the financial reporting process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing and preparing the General Ledger, including consolidations and statutory reporting functions, while establishing performance metrics to enhance accountability and drive improvements.
  • Support general ledger accounting activities to guarantee timely and precise reporting, encompassing consolidations, intercompany accounting, chart of accounts maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, and supporting schedules.
  • Engage in monthly financial close activities, ensuring a disciplined close process and coordinating with teams across the accounting and finance departments.
  • Participate in annual audits and special projects, collaborating with external auditors to provide necessary information and maintain proper record-keeping.
  • Embrace a continuous improvement mindset to refine and streamline the close and audit preparation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory regulations for international subsidiaries.
  • Assist the tax department by providing schedules and information necessary for timely tax compliance.
  • Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for effective handoffs and improvements in financial analysis processes.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects as needed, including mergers and acquisitions integration and the adoption of new accounting standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with IRS reporting and internal/external audits.
  • Background in Big4 accounting firms is advantageous.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS).
  • Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Understanding of ERP systems and the ability to extract detailed data.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic when handling confidential documents and information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive in communication and follow-up.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and manage work within time constraints.
  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking approach.
