Role Description

The Manager, Water & Energy Services is an important member of the growth team and is primarily responsible for expanding the customer base of Industrial Water Treatment applications. Responsibilities also include managing an existing territory of boiler and cooling water accounts. The account service component of the role involves regular site visits to conduct water tests and write technical service reports which promote industry best practices in the operation of these systems. With a focus on continuous improvement and customer education, this position partners with our customers to ensure that water and energy savings are obtained resulting in a high return on investment for the program. The position requires a strong leadership presence as well as an entrepreneurial mind set which drives performance and maintains the highest level of customer satisfaction in the industry. The ideal job candidate is winning oriented by nature and has a strong desire to advance his/her career in within the water industry. While responsibilities focus on maintaining relationships with existing clients, the primary objective of the role is territory expansion as the company is highly growth oriented. The position will work with many levels of a customer organization including maintenance personnel, plant engineers and plant managers. As the territory grows, the routine service work will be transitioned to a Water Quality Analyst, ensuring that growth remains the primary focus for the role. As part of the growth team, the Manager, Water & Energy Services will also work closely with the Inside Sales Group, Technology Experts, and the Executive Team in a highly collaborative approach to prospecting and winning market opportunities. The Global Water Technology product offering is deemed an essential service since client systems require continued protection through the current COVID-19 pandemic. The Manager, Water & Energy Services will perform duties at client sites with an extreme priority on safety, observing all physical distancing and personal protective equipment protocols.

Global Water Technology (GWT) has been serving customers with Industrial Water Treatment solutions since 1990. GWT serves a wide range of customer segments including Hospitality, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Commercial Office Buildings, Data Centers, Food and Beverage as well as New Construction. Utilizing an innovative data driven approach, GWT targets the lowest life-cycle cost for clients by monitoring and managing critical key performance parameters.

Main duties:
  • Responsible for executing opportunity-based sales processes from prospecting to closing new and upgrade sales opportunities and documenting the progress in a Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Managing water treatment programs at established client sites through regular program audits which include obtaining and testing water samples using field laboratory equipment.
  • Resolving program non-conformances by trouble shooting problems and implementing corrective measures which may include equipment repairs or chemical dosage adjustments.
  • Generating professionally written technical reports and proposals which advise on industry best practices for operating mechanical equipment with a focus on extended equipment life as well as water and energy savings. This often involves identifying, recommending, and implementing program upgrades.
  • Conducting customer meetings to communicate program results in a manner that builds rapport and promote customer care of their mechanical systems.
Travel Requirements:
  • This position requires daily travel to customer and prospect sites by company car.
  • Overnight and travel may be required periodically.

Requirements

Required Credentials:
  • A demonstrated mechanical aptitude and a desire to work in a hands-on environment.
  • Previous experience working with customers where the focus was providing an exceptional customer experience.
  • Pervious experience in the water treatment or adjacent industry.
  • Proficient in computer use with a solid understanding of the MS Office applications.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Post secondary education in Science or Engineering.
  • Previous work experience in the water industry is considered a strong asset.
