The Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) is a quasi-independent state agency that develops and administers programs related to the financing of both higher education and business in the State of Maine. FAME provides targeted financial tools, information, and solutions to help grow Maine's economy and enable Maine residents to take advantage of opportunities to further their education.

FAME is seeking a knowledgeable, driven and compassionate individual to become part of the Business Team as a Business Programs Assistant. The primary responsibilities of this position include: providing direct customer service and program support to businesses and partner organizations of the Maine Funding Network and FAME Business Programs. Functional roles include Maine Funding Network program administration, customer case research and resolution, service to both external and internal customers, data management and reporting, document management, program originations and servicing, quality assurance and process improvements, and training of staff and program partners on a Salesforce-enabled platform.

This position is a full-time permanent role with benefits.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will meet the following minimum education, experience, and work requirements:

  • Two (2) year degree in related field is required or an appropriate combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years related work experience required.
  • Proficiency within the Salesforce platform.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and effectiveness in interpersonal relations, strong oral and written communication, and the ability to train/coach colleagues.
  • Strong computer, time management, and problem-solving skills are required. Superior organizational and project management skills are required, along with the ability to prioritize functions and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess a positive, achievement-oriented attitude to build strong relationships with all customers and staff. Ability to work well in a team environment and to collaborate with internal and external resources.
  • Motivated, self-starter with proven team building skills.
  • Possess deductive reasoning and critical thinking skill set.
