Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking an Operational/Commercial Logistics SME to provide acquisition support for defense systems at Tinker AFB. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the sustainment teams through data analysis, acquisition management, procurement, and other associated logistics data of critical assets, insurance spares, tooling, and related parts and material.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and managing critical aspects of the development, production, and/or deployment of capabilities utilizing DoD, USAF, and local logistics policies, procedures, and functionalities, and financial data requirements of acquisition logistics disciplines.
  • Coordinate all logistics elements including but not limited to spares, Support Equipment, training, facilities, technical data, and provisioning to ensure all integrated logistics support requirements for the program are identified and tailored to the directorate's needs.
  • Assist in integrated logistics support management team meetings, program management reviews, and other related meetings.
  • Assist in: developing integrated support requirements for system and equipment design; developing support requirements that are related to readiness objectives and design; conducting specialized analyses on total life cycle cost, logistics supportability, and warranty; and providing technical assistance and consultant expertise.
  • Provide analyses of configuration, deliveries, and deficiencies and analyze and assist with the integration of training system requirements into production program plans and documentation and supporting special projects.
  • Assist in the full range of logistics actions required to analyze problems, defining alternative solutions, providing recommended courses of action, and providing written reports.
  • Assist in the performance of any related tasks that provide the capability to evaluate support alternatives, perform trade-off analyses between support concepts and between support, design, and operational concepts.
  • Assist with: identifying requirements for manuals to include military use of commercial maintenance, repair, service, overhaul, and flight manuals; arranging for printing and distribution of TO and updates; identifying and reviewing deficiencies and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) IAW the weapons system contract; and tracking and monitoring technical compliance TOs.
  • Assist in conducting site surveys to determine requirements for pre-operational and post operational facilities, preparation of facility requirements plans, and base and depot site activation task force meetings.
  • Perform various tasks related to the planning, development, implementation and management of a comprehensive, affordable and effective systems support strategy.
  • Provide assistance with the transportation plan development and the defense transportation system process.
  • Assist with the planning, managing, and coordinating the total cradle-to-grave life cycle logistics support for assigned weapon systems or subsystems, integrating separate functions of supply, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance into logistics activities required to sustain the system fielding.
  • Assist with monitoring functional and organization compliance with milestones and performance criteria.
  • Assist in the continuous evaluation of the status and effectiveness of program support in all functional areas to ensure adequate support plans and accurate time phased schedules.
  • Assist in the planning, analyzing, and coordination of a systems, or portion of a major systems, acquisition and transfer into operational use.
  • Assist in the development of logistics support and maintainability programs or plans as well as systems acquisition requirements analysis.

Qualifications

15+ years experience supporting acquisition programs including at least 5 years supporting DoD programs. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Knowledge and experience in acquisition logistics philosophy, policies and procedures to Air Force systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, post award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles. Knowledge in software development, sustainment, and depot avionics testing and repair. Understands the theories and principles of ILS planning, development, and execution sufficient to coordinate and integrate functions into a total, well structured, and viable program. Must understand system life cycle concepts and design as they apply to system research, development, and acquisition. Able to demonstrate a working understanding of contractual processes, procedures, and technical requirements. Demonstrate a working knowledge of logistics and maintainability programs to include, but not be limited to, product support RAM-C program test and evaluation planning and execution, technical evaluation and identification of weapon systems logistics requirements and resources. Able to demonstrate an understanding of budgetary or financial analysis and control and life cycle cost analysis and control. Experience with tanker or transport aircraft aircrew or ground operations experience. Experience with depot maintenance or system sustainment management at a military aircraft sustainment center/logistics complex. Experience with commercial derivative aircraft logistics processes, provisioning, and interactive electronic technical manuals. Operational experience to assist the Government with supply chain, equipment specialist management, support equipment, software sustainment/development, and back ship standup management. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
