Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Asset and Property Management Consultant to perform specific data management, data input into Goverment Furnished Property Module and Accountable Property System of Record. The position performs analytical and technical work requiring a comprehensive knowledge of: (1) theory and principles of government property management; (2) Global Spares Pool governance, processes and procedures and (3) develops/analyzes courses of action for complex data and system requirements. (Expected location: Arlington, VA)

Responsibilities

  • Support projects analyzing existing government system-support supply chains (including, inventory management, maintenance, and distribution).
  • Consult on logistics strategy and supply chain materiel management policy and guidance, with particular focus on wholesale and retail level inventory management processes, policies, performance measurement and analysis.
  • Assess DAF, DoN, and DLA asset management systems to include data structure and interface requirements; and create structure that provides the DAF, DoN, and DLA the ability to execute well-controlled end to end asset management scope of all F-35 assets.
  • Increase automation of asset management to improve physical inventory efficiencies and accuracy using advanced technology and automatic identification technology.
  • Maximize utilization of embedded remote monitoring technology in CONUS and deployed assets to increase in-transit visibility and accountability.
  • Enhance sustainment analytic capabilities to facilitate efficient resource allocation planning and provide recommendations on inventory pooling, cross leveling across the DoD/services.
  • Evaluate procurement impacts in relation to asset management systems and processes.
  • Assist in developing a strategic plan and roadmap, including recommendations on how to achieve full transition while focusing on strategic posture and platform availability.
  • Provide Asset Visibility for all F-35 supply parts through an approved DoD Accountable Property System of Record (APSR).
  • Identify current policy, guidance, and processes for cataloging and provisioning of commodities and equipment.
  • Provide support in correcting audit findings and material weaknesses in Inventory, Operating Material & Supplies, and Requisitioning.
  • Provide administrative and technical writing support for the successful maintenance and update of DoD and other government agency supply chain issuances and policies.
  • Provide program management support, perform data analysis, develop briefings and papers for all levels of DoD leadership, and conduct research in support of DoD logistics strategy and supply chain initiatives.

Qualifications

MINIMUM:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or similar discipline
  • 5+ plus years’ experience in DoD property management, logistics and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of commercially based advanced modeling, networking, scheduling and inventory optimization systems and techniques in order to support development of supply, inventory management, and distribution policy to improve materiel management of spare part inventories.
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
  • Availability for occasional travel.
  • This position requires an active security clearance at the Secret level.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Master’s degree (Supply Chain Management, Property or Asset Management, or Logistics preferred)
  • Prior military or DoD civilian/contractor experience
  • Ability to develop mathematical models and simulations of business operations
  • Working knowledge of Defense Property Accountability System and Government APSRs
  • Experience with F-35 Joint Strike Fighter sustainment and global spares pool supply chain operations and IT systems of record
