Department Summary:

Do you have a Cyber Warfare Operations background or Cyber/ Digital Network Exploitation Analyst and an interest in Operational Technology (OT) or Control Systems? Have you learned about or worked with OT/Control Systems and have an interest in supporting a Deterrence mission set? The Cyber Physical Deterrence Technologies (L543) department is focused on capabilities and technologies designed to deter our adversaries from holding our infrastructure at risk. This includes technical deterrence capabilities such as forensics and attribution, device countermeasures, adversary emulation, and deception capabilities. Policy-based capabilities also play a critical role in the execution of the deterrence mission. Development of normative behaviors and well-defined coordinated response options, for example, are achieved by reducing the ambiguity surrounding cybersecurity capabilities possessed, and the consequences for leveraging these capabilities against global infrastructure. L543 examines both domestic and foreign control systems and weapons systems technologies for hardware and software weaknesses. CIPIC views deterrence as a capability achieved in a coordinated fashion using both technical and non-technical means; the Policy Support core LOE is heavily engaged by L543.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Principal Cyber Integrator for Operational Technology. The successful candidate will be a technical leader focused on cyber operations and effects, mobile and embedded device security, operational tradecraft, and cyber deterrence. The role will involve improving the cybersecurity posture and effectiveness of various government sponsors’ missions by tailoring and operationalizing technical research, developing cyber capabilities, and expanding the knowledge base of threat intelligence related to their existing capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligible.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 7 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 4 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • 7+ years of combined professional experience in the fields of cybersecurity, information technology, mobile & IoT security, information privacy, systems engineering.
  • Excellent leadership skills with an emphasis on leading by example and through volunteerism.
  • Strong technical skills with ability to work both independently and collaboratively, producing quality work in challenging environments.
  • Exceptional oral and written presentation skills, and adept at breaking down technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient in various software development languages, including Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, and R.
  • Self-motivated, positive, inclusive team player who derives joy from lifting and mentoring others.
  • Willing to spend 6 months of first year OCONUS
  • This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in computing & information systems or related field.
  • Experience as a Principal Investigator for a research and development program focused on protecting critical infrastructure.
  • Experience in leading a team of engineers in mapping and linking ingested IT/OT data.
  • Experience in the development of a prototype capability for field use that utilizes networking, VPNs, and software to obfuscate digital communications between two parties.
  • Experience in mobile encrypted networks and communications exploitation.
  • Experience in IoT device assessments and emerging technology capability assessments.
  • Experience in Information Operations in relation to Cyber
  • Experience as a Cyber Planner
  • Experience with development and testing of cyber capabilities
  • Experience in supervising, mentoring, and inspiring early career professionals.
  • Experience in leading a Cyber Community of Interest (CoI).
  • Experience in hands-on, technical research and evaluations of various emerging technologies according to sponsors' needs and interests.
  • Security Clearance: DoD Top Secret/SCI.
