How Is This Role Important to Our Work?


Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN is hiring an Associate IT Process Consultant in Eagan, MN. The Associate IT Process Consultant will collaborates with IT management and staff, technology vendors, and stakeholders to perform responsibilities to align with the strategic process direction and to enable process execution with emphasis on continued efficiency, effectiveness, integration, compliance and quality. This individual will have a basic knowledge of at least one IT process as well as related roles/responsibilities and supporting technologies.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in technology focused on process improvement. This individual will be able to look at IT processes and procedures and make recommendation on how to improve that systems performance. This role is hybrid, 2 days a week in office, out of Eagan, MN.

A Day in the Life:

  • Utilizes existing project plans, proposals, and charters to assist in achieving service objectives related to process improvement.
  • Analyzes information to assess gaps to solve routine or standard problems.
  • Details the documentation of processes, reports, graphs and data for customers including multiple levels of process stakeholders.
  • Assists with the implementation of process maturity roadmaps, performance goals and metrics.
  • Executes day-to-day operations of the processes within scope.
  • Participates in the adoption of processes through the development of awareness, communication and training materials that target a wide variety of audiences to ensure the successful implementation of initiatives.
  • Researches and stays abreast of best practices to maintain standards and deliverables to ensure the integrity of the development process.
  • Receives instruction, guidance and direction from others.

    Required Skills and Experiences:

    • 2+ years' related (IT Process Improvement) experience or Bachelor’s degree. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
    • Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or higher
    • Amazon AWS Cloud Practitioner or higher
    • Knowledge of process mapping skills including the ability to assess internal and external practices
    • Experience in process improvement work
    • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement methods and processes
    • Developing the ability to leverage understanding of the business, industry, best practices and ITs performance
    • Developing a basic understanding of the standards and deliverables to ensure integrity of the systems engineering process
    • Developing interpersonal/team skills to effectively interact and collaborate with others
    • Developing the ability to bring a different perspective to situations and challenge the status quo
    • Acquiring basic knowledge of ITIL and Lean/Six Sigma tools and methodologies
    • Proficient in the use of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, and MS Project
