What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will serve as a regional project reviewer, technical advisor, and a Section Chief within Regional 10's Environmental & Historic Preservation Branch, Non-Disaster Hazard Mitigation Assistance Section. Focus of work includes non-disaster FEMA grant programs (such as the High Hazard Dams Program, various Preparedness programs, Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities Program, and Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program).

Typical assignments include:

Completing and documenting grant project environmental and historic preservation compliance reviews.
Providing environmental planning and historic preservation policy and project compliance technical assistance to FEMA program stakeholders.
Managing compliance processes for complex projects or program initiatives with short- and long-term objectives and facilitating creative compliance solutions with diverse stakeholders.
Reviewing, drafting, or finalizing project impact assessments standard operating procedures, policy, guidance, or tools; especially those related to streamlining environmental and historic preservation compliance reviews.
Supervising a team of interdisciplinary technical specialists and managing Section workload.

What else do I need to know?

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
