Job DescriptionJob Overview:

Peninsula Grill is seeking a passionate and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our esteemed culinary team. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play an integral role in assisting the Executive Chef in overseeing the kitchen’s day-to-day operations. You will help lead the kitchen brigade in delivering top-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, presentation, and hygiene. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious chef looking to grow their culinary skills in a prestigious dining establishment.Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Chefs in managing kitchen operations during service, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of dishes. Take part in overseeing food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring dishes are prepared according to the restaurant's standards and specifications. Support and mentor junior kitchen staff, helping to develop their skills and ensure that they are adhering to best practices in food preparation and safety. Ensure the quality, taste, and presentation of dishes are consistently of the highest standard. Conduct regular checks on dishes during service to guarantee satisfaction. Collaborate with the Executive Chef in developing new menu items and daily specials. Offer creative input and assist in recipe testing and development. Assist in monitoring inventory levels, ordering supplies, and managing stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure the availability of fresh ingredients. Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring that the kitchen is always in compliance with health department standards. Act as a liaison between kitchen staff and front-of-house staff, ensuring clear communication to provide a seamless guest experience. Qualifications:Proven experience as a Chef de Partie, Junior Sous Chef, or similar role in a high-end restaurant. Strong culinary knowledge, with experience in fine dining or gourmet cuisine preferred. Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure. Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities during busy service periods. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene. Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred.
